When Home is Elsewhere Footage in Mekong Delta

Dec. 28, 2020.  While going through the footage of Dad and my trip to Vietnam, I found this shot of a Mekong Delta floating market in the beautiful morning light. This is the feeling I’m going for while making When Home Is Elsewhere.

Please consider making a TAX-DEDUCTIBLE CONTRIBUTION before the year ends to support the post-production of the film. Follow us on Facebook and Instagram. Wishing you much fruitful meaning in all that you do in the coming year!

When Home is Elsewhere (WIP, 2023), a sequel to Reunification

Sept. 18, 2020.  I’m very happy to be working on this new sequel, and honored that it is sponsored by New York Foundation for the Arts (NYFA) and had received a grant from Queens Council on the Arts!

While Reunification (2015) reflects on the circumstances surrounding my family’s immigration from Hong Kong to Los Angeles in the 1980s and my parents’ divorce, When Home Is Elsewhere (WIP, 2023) explores the idea of home, and the anxiety of not having yet “found home.” This more abstract need is explored through my father’s life experiences – a pre-teen orphan, a refugee from Vietnam who escaped to Hong Kong, an immigrant who moved his family to the United States, a divorcee, a father.

Please consider supporting the project with a 501(c)(3) tax-deductible contribution in order to make this film come to fruition. I look forward to sharing it with you!
